God- grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change . . .

It has been a very trying 48 hours for the three of us. Bryton is having a few issues and it's just not fun to watch. He is very, very puffy- for lack of a better word. He is retaining a lot of fluid which is making it difficult for him to be comfortable and it does have an affect on the way he's breathing. His eyes are basically swollen shut at this point. We also just found out that he does have a tiny PDA that might be averting some blood past his lungs and making it hard for him to properly receive and distribute oxygen.   He didn't go in for the second part of the barium study today, because there is still a lot of barium in his system from the first study. This could be part of his discomfort. A.I. duPont is a beautiful facility, but we really wish that we could have the nurses from Christiana with us. Especially now that he's having some issues. We consider some of the women we were working with to be like family. It's amazing the bonds you form with people you never even knew you'd meet, especially when they're caring for the most important person in your life. Maybe we were lucky, or spoiled, or whatever you want to call it, but we are so grateful and we really miss what we had going at Christiana. It's nice to have our son closer to us, but I'd personally rather have to deal with the bus and the shuttle and all of the crazy scheduling to have him with people we know and trust. He is doing ok right now, and we are hoping to get back over to check on him one more time tonight. We aren't even putting our hands in the isolette right now because he's so sensitive. But tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully it will be a good one.

Dearest Jeremy & Rocky - checking in on little Bryton's post for Friday before bedtime for me. I see that you feel unsure about Bryton's move to A.I. Dupont - meeting new people to care for your little one. Not knowing just what to expect. This will pass and you will both starting to feel comfortable when the new faces you are encountering become familiar. I just wondered when I read your posts that Bryton was up to 3 lbs. so quickly. So it does not surprise me that you see a "bloated appearence" to Bryton - Then along with the testing they did, Bryton probably was moved around more and will do better when things quiet down for him. His little spirit is hearing new sounds of people talking - just be there for him, talking to him, tell him mommy and daddy are there - assure him that you love him, that others are taking care of him and doing what is necessary to help him grow. Keep talking to him just as if you are talking to me. Keep telling Bryton he is fine and the Drs. & Nurses are taking special care of his needs. He is familiar with the sounds of your and Jeremy's voices so that will be settling to him. Take care and know I am lifting Bryton up to the Lord to give a healing touch to Bryton this day. Take care - keep positive and have joy in "your voice and heart" when you talk to Bryton. Take care of yourselves and "keep looking up". Aunt Connie

Hi to each of you. I was just checking for any update posts about Bryton. I really hope he had a better today, Saturday - than yesterday.

I am forwarding to you, another encouraging email I received from Gale's Aunt Doris over in Harrington, DE. It was very uplifting to me and I hope encouraging to you. Take care and have a good Sunday. Aunt Connie

GOD'S ACCURACY

How lovely to think about the way our Creator God planned everything so
carefully and perfectly, everything with a plan. As His highest creation,
'we are fearfully and wonderfully made.'

God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs.
For example:
The eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
Those of the canary in 14 days;
Those of the barnyard hen in 21 days.
The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
Those of the mallard in 35 days.
The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.
(Notice, they are all divisible by seven).

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. The four legs of this
great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other Quadruped is so
made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to
live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.
A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation! God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains.

Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the rind.
Each orange has an even number of segments.
Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.
Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and
each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds
of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalk
The Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the
day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a
conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature,
he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and
those that were closed!

Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence. Only the God-planned life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is safe.
