Good news!

They did the second half of the barium study on Brytons' upper GI yesterday, and as far as they can tell there is no stricture, therefore no need for a procedure! It seems like his bowel is just still slowly recovering from the NEC and it's just taking time to move things along. They are going to continue to keep an eye on it for a few days, but if nothing else has to be done, we are really going to push to have him taken back to Christiana. His puffiness is going away a little more everyday, and so far nothing has developed in the blood culture to suggest that he'd have an infection. Overall, it has been a good 2 days so far and he is much more stable than he was when he first came to A.I. duPont.

Hi Jeremy & Rocky - so glad to hear good news that the swelling for Bryton is gradually going down - it was just a matter of time before the "professionals" were able to get Bryton's stats back on an even kiel. His pics look good. Are you getting to hold him anymore and talk/sing to him - haven't heard you say??

Well today, my little Lily & parents headed to Pittsburg, PA Childrens Hospital, about a 6 hr. drive. Her doctor @ A.I. Dupont wanted them to take Lily for assessment and a few tests for their database, I think. They will be there maybe 3 days. RE: HEART & LUNG TRANSPLANT.

I really hope it does not come down to a transplant till drs. see how Lily is progressing in her groth (we understand that up until about 8 yrs. old, those blood vessels and capullaries have a chance to grow. I think going to see the hospital where many children's transplants are done, help to "take the scarriness" out of the unknown. So this visit is just one to check out everything, there are no plans for transplants in the near future - I thank the Lord for that.

Take care and just have joy in each day.
Love Aunt Connie
